Happy Endings

Here are the stories of some of our most recent adoptions. Click here to see pictures of the piggies who have found homes through us.

Toby

Adopted March 2008

Toby was surrendered to us along with Henry and Charlie in a tiny petstore cage not big enough for one guinea pig let alone three boars! Because he was bullying Charlie, Toby had to be seperated from Henry and Charlie. We thought he would never find a buddy! Then finally after 4 months of being in the rescue along came Buster and they were instant friends! So Toby went home with Aaron to be a buddy for Buster.

Dixie

Adopted February 2008

Dixie came to us from a volunteer at the Greenville Humane Society. She came to them pregnant and infested with mites. We thank them endlessly for the wonderful care they provided her. We were told that Dixie was extremely skittish and they believed she was unadoptable. After a much bigger cage, better food and TLC, Dixie was a completely different pig! She went home with Jennifer to be a buddy for Miss Guin Guin.

The Powerpuff Girls

Adopted February 2008

Bubbles, Blossum and Buttercup came to use from Lee County Animal Shelter in Alabama. These little girls were obviously kept in an extremely small space. Their ears are ragged from where they were so bored they chewed each other’s ears. Happily, Bubbles was adopted to be a buddy for Nicole’s guinea pig Mariah. Bubbles and Blossum were adopter to be buddies for a Tracey’s guinea pig.

Cleo and Layla

Adopted February 2008

Cleo and Layla also came to us from Alabama. They are now living happily with Jennifer down in Newnan, GA in a huge 3 story C&C cage.

Henry and Charlie

Adopted January 2008

Henry and Charlie came to us around Thanksgiving in a tiny pet store cage along with Toby. They were all underweight and had scares from fighting. They were immediately put into a 2x5 C&C. After a few weeks it was apparent that Charlie was not doing so well. He wouldn’t come out of his igloo to eat, he would scoot it around with him. Every time he came out, Toby would chase him right back in. While cute to watch him scoot the igloo around the cage, it was affecting his health. We took Toby out of the cage and put him by himself. Almost instantly Charlie was a completely new pig! He came out of his house and ran laps and popcorned like a happy piggy! These wonderful boys have found their forever home with Teresa and her daughter Terry.

Pepper and Eden

Adopted December 2007

Pepper was surrendered to us as single female; she was unsuccessfully paired with several females before she found Eden. Eden was one of 6 guinea pigs rescued from a so called ferret rescue. This “rescue” had 5 boys and Eden all housed together. We were told they were all boys! Two of these babies had mites so bad they had become bald from scratching themselves. Sadly these two boys died their first night, one more died the next day and the last little boy has had unstable health since. Eden was the healthiest and the only one to survive. Pepper and Eden instantly took to each other and they have been inseparable ever since!
